Back Snack ProgramThe purpose of the Back Snack Program is to provide food for middle school students who would otherwise have nothing to eat on weekends when they are not attending school. Many of the students who receive these snack packs on the weekend are homeless, or on free and reduced lunch. For many of these students the only meals they receive on the weekend are these packs. Hungry students have been known to have lower test scores, diminished learning capacity, and increased behavioral problems.
Today we pack 250+ backsnacks every week. The schools are Oregon Trail, Indian Trail, Frontier Trail, California Trail, Santa Fe Trail, SOAR, CHOICES in Olathe, and Wheatridge and Trailridge Middle Schools in Gardner.
Did you know you could own your very own Mission Southside T-shirt for just $10?? All proceeds from the sale of Mission Southside T-shirts go to the Back Snack Program! Check out the t-shirt here.
